Formation of Jusangjeolli Cliff
The Jusangjeolli was formed when the lava from Mt. Hallasan(the highest mountain in Jeju-do as well as in South Korea) erupted and flowed into the sea of Jungmun. The lava cool down in a fast speed when they flowed into the sea and it shrink thus forming the pillar shaped cliff.
So what is so special about this cliff?
Jusangjeolli are stone pillars that piled up along the coast and what special about that pillars are they are not just normal irregular shaped pillars but they have SHAPE!!They shaped like cubes or hexagons of various sizes(Height: 30-40 metres).
Who carved them out?
Answer: Mother of Nature.
(Now you know why Jeju-do is one of the Seven Wonders of Nature in the World)
