Da Lat railway station is one of the oldest railway station in Vietnam. It was built in 1932 and put into use in 1936. The railway line was destroyed in the war and abandoned in the late 1960s. 7 kilometers of the track between Da Lat and Trai Mat has been reconstructed and operated for tourism purpose since 1997. I decided to pay a visit to this railway station because travellers can take a steam locomotive ride to visit Linh Phuoc Pagoda at Trai Mat.

Aforementioned, I wished to take the locomotive ride to Trai Mat, but I missed the chance. I was told that the train will only departs when there are at least 15 passengers on ride, and that time we were the only 3 people that wish to have that ride. So, I left the Dalat Railway Station with regret. There are 5 rides per day and to avoid disappointment, I suggest those that interested to take the ride to reach railway station and catch up the second or third ride. The people in counter told me that normally that 2 rides will be having the enough amount of passengers.
